Your Greenest St. Patrick's Day Yet!

What are your plans this Saint Patrick’s Day?

There is certainly no shortage of Saint Patrick’s Day events to choose from if you’re looking to go out on the town Friday after work. Whether you plan on making your way to the Pub Crawl in the Siesta Key Village (mmm Daiquiri Deck), heading to downtown Bradenton for Main Street Live!, hitting up The Shamrock Pub’s EPIC annual Block Party, or craft beer sampling at Mr. Beerys St. Paddy’s Day Celebration in Gulf Gate (just to name a few!), the one thing you don’t want to leave home without is your green attire.

At Goodwill Manasota, we want to make it super easy for you to find the green clothes you’re looking for (actually any color clothes you might be looking for) which is why our clothing is organized by both size and color. It’s as simple as going to the aisle of the size and color you’re looking for. Really, it’s that simple. Men, women, and children – we’ve got green clothes for you! And don’t think that you have to go with the traditional kelly or emerald green when choosing your look. Hunter green, olive green, mint green, heck even neon green are all totally appropriate and still completely festive when getting dressed to avoid all those pinchers out there.

Maybe you plan on staying in and hosting an at home soiree this Saint Patrick’s day? If that’s the case be sure to stock up on pint glasses and beer steins for all that green beer and Guinness you’ll surely be drinking. Plan on serving up some Jameson Irish Whiskey? You’d be surprised how many people donate the shot glasses they’ve picked up on vacations to Goodwill. Whatever your beverage choice, make sure you’ve got enough glassware for everyone to raise their drink in a celebratory toast!

Serving up the Saint Patty’s Day classic corned beef and cabbage as part of your celebration? While you’re picking up all the glasses you need to make sure everyone’s thirst is fully quenched, take a trip down the next aisle over and pick up any serving dishes, plates, or pots and pans you might need to make sure your kitchen is fully stocked and guest ready.

Fun fact about corned beef and cabbage, only the cabbage part is actually an Irish tradition. When Irish Immigrants came to America, they started having corned beef as a cheaper alternative to the bacon that was traditionally served with cabbage back in Ireland. Feel free to drop that knowledge on your party guests when serving up the ‘classic’ dish!

Want to add an extra level of green to your Saint Patrick’s Day soiree? Encourage your guests to bring their unwanted gently used items to be donated to Goodwill! We’re happy to accept your donations any day of the year, but why not make it fun and celebratory since St. Patrick’s Day only comes around once a year?

Whatever you choose to do this Saint Patrick’s Day, keep Goodwill Manasota in mind to save some green (you see what I did there?) and make your day extra festive and special!
