Kindness Community

Kindness is a beautiful thing. Especially when the whole community embraces it as a way of life! Via a partnership with Goodwill Manasota, the always fabulous and amazing Jacqueline Moore is working to do just that!

Founded in 2016, the goal of the Kindness Community is to create social change that makes kindness a way of life. Goodwill Manasota first debuted this partnership at one of our monthly Ambassador Power Meetings asking that those present all sign a Kindness Pledge. Since then, almost 15,000 people have signed the pledge which states: "By signing this pledge - I am agreeing to take actions in creating a kindness community. I will take new opportunities that bring forth my commitment and encourage others. By taking new actions, new results will emerge along with the possibility of transforming our community into a better place to live."

Since then the Kindness Community has exploded with both Sarasota and Manatee Counties issuing official Kindness Community Proclamations and North Port adopting a Kindness Community Resolution. Local businesses such as The Local Tea Company, Rough & Ready Media, and JNA Media Global, have all been quick to the plate as well donating their time and services to help spread the kindness message.

But that's not all! If hearing about this has you dying to know how you can get involved and how you can help make the world a kinder place, let me tell you! First, you should definitely go to experiencegoodwill.org/kindness and sign the pledge. Then, if you aren't already, be sure to follow Kindness Community on Facebook to stay up-to-date on everything we've got going on.

But why not take it a step further and bring kindness into your workplace? How can you do that you ask? It's easy! Join us in the Goodwill Manasota Community Rooms for the Kindness at Work Speaker Series Luncheons to hear from a number of companies who are making the conscious decision to create their own Kindness Community in the Workplace.

The first luncheon was last month at our corporate office but there are still two left if you missed that one! This month on July 28th we will be in the Goodwill Manasota North Port Community Room to hear from local businesses including, Sticky Fingers Studio, Achievements Learning Center, Culvers, and West Villages.

Then on August 11th we will be in the Goodwill Manasota North Sarasota Community Room for the third luncheon of the series to hear from Re/Max Alliance Group, Adams and Reese, LLP, and PGT Industries. Join us to hear firsthand how these businesses all are working to create a culture of kindness in the workplace and how you can do the same!

Seating is limited for these events and already almost sold out. If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, you definitely don't want to delay! Go to experiencegoodwill.org/events to reserve your seat sooner rather than later to make sure you don't miss out. Tickets are $20 each or $150 per table. We hope to see you there!
