Goodwill Manasota Attended Donation Center, SarasotaSARASOTA/BRADENTON, FL – Goodwill Manasota recently broke ground on its newest attended donation center (ADC), to be located at 1160 Jacaranda Boulevard in Venice. The 2,000 square-foot facility will provide southern Sarasota County residents with another convenient location for dropping off donations of unwanted goods. Construction will continue through the winter, with completion expected by spring of 2017.

"The revenue from the sales of donated goods funds job training programs and support services that help people with barriers to employment to achieve and maintain economic independence and enjoy an increased quality of life," said Bob Rosinsky, president and CEO of Goodwill Manasota. "By opening this new facility, Goodwill is making it easy and convenient for people to donate, and is creating new jobs in the community at the same time. These locations are vital to our mission of changing lives through the power of work."

The new ADC, designed by Randall Paul Sample Architect, is being built by NDC Construction as the construction manager. This facility will bring the total of Goodwill Manasota attended donation centers to 36 in its service area of Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto and Hardee counties.

The new ADC at Jacaranda will replace the current Venice Pines ADC, creating a more convenient covered drive-through drop-off location. The new facility will employ three team members and has the potential to increase the number of donations to Goodwill Manasota by more than 5,000 annually.

Items donated to Goodwill are sold in retail stores throughout the region, supporting programs and services that enable the organization to assist individuals with disabilities, veterans, or those with other barriers to employment.
