SARASOTA/BRADENTON, FL – For the third year, the Sarasota Kiwanis Club invites the community to attend the Veterans Day Breakfast, benefiting the Sarasota Kiwanis Foundation and Goodwill Manasota’s Veterans Services Program. The breakfast will be held on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, from 7:00-9:00 a.m. at Robarts Arena (3000 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota).
The event will feature keynote speaker Rear Admiral Thomas Logan Malone, whose 30 years of U. S. Navy service was spent principally in nuclear attack and ballistic missile submarines starting as a junior officer and rising to the command of a nuclear attack submarine. He earned numerous medals and, later, served in various Washington, D.C. naval submarine assignments, before moving into the private sector. The breakfast will also feature the national anthem, sung by Erika Quartuccio, and a medley of service anthems played on the trumpet by Danny Bilyeu.
“Goodwill Manasota is proud to participate in this annual event with a valued community partner like the Sarasota Kiwanis Club,” said Goodwill Manasota president and CEO Bob Rosinsky. “Our organization works hard to provide much-needed programs and services for our returning heroes because we believe that veterans deserve to be recognized for their many sacrifices every day – not just on Veterans Day. We hope the community will come out in force to honor our veterans and let them know we appreciate all they have done and continue to do for us.”
The breakfast begins at 7:00 a.m.; the program starts at 7:35 a.m. Tickets are $25/person; sponsorships are still available. To register, contact Kim Noyes at (941) 925.2970 or SRQKiwanisVeteransDayBreakfast@gmail.com.
