Black_Frida_ShoppingSARASOTA/BRADENTON, FL – During this Thanksgiving season, Goodwill Manasota has much to be thankful for. The organization has well exceeded its goal of helping 1,000 veterans just prior to the three-year anniversary of the inception of its Veterans Services Program – more than 1,500 veterans and their families have been assisted. Goodwill is extremely grateful for those who have made monetary gifts as well as those who donate their unwanted items or shop in Goodwill’s retail stores. Through the sales of donated items, Goodwill is able to provide individual case management and job placement services to area veterans.

To celebrate this achievement, Goodwill Manasota will be reducing prices on select items during the entire week of Thanksgiving as a thank-you to those who support Goodwill. The week will culminate with Black Friday specials for those who subscribe to “Ambassador Connector,” Goodwill’s newsletter.

Through the Veterans Services Program, Goodwill Manasota is working to help returning servicemen and women reintegrate back into their families, communities and jobs. In its three years of operation, the program has connected veterans with necessary social services, provided emotional and physical support, offered free employment services, and distributed funds for emergency needs through its SERV (Special Emergency Resources for Veterans) program.

“We are honored to help our heroes every day of the year with housing, education and employment assistance. Each and every day, our dedicated Veterans Services Program staff works to make sure our veterans get the help they need to provide for their families,” said Bob Rosinsky, president and CEO of Goodwill Manasota. “We hope that the community will enjoy our Thanksgiving week retail specials, and would like to wish all of our veterans and the community members who help to support our programs a very happy Thanksgiving.”
