Reg faced multiple challenges in his life, and he desired a fresh start. He felt like he had lost everything, including his home, wife, and children, which started the battle with alcohol abuse.
Some days felt like an unending downward spiral. Determined to reclaim his life, Reg decided to relocate and start the next chapter.
Upon relocating, he decided to visit one of the Goodwill stores, an organization he had long admired. It was a moment of courage when he asked the manager if they were hiring and took the crucial step of applying for a position. After submitting his application and successfully interviewing, Reg was thrilled to be offered a part-time job.
From the very first day, he felt a renewed sense of acceptance and respect, and most importantly, he regained his independence. Reg discovered that he was valued and began to rebuild his sense of self-worth. Although he was only part-time, he wore his Goodwill vest with great pride.
Reg is not just working again; he is partaking in a new chapter towards rebuilding his life. He is grateful to work for a company that genuinely believes in second chances. He would encourage anyone considering employment at Goodwill to leap, as he was truly impressed by how deeply the organization invests in its employees. Each team member is assigned a Good Partner Coach (GPC), a benefit he has never experienced in any previous employment. Goodwill also offers remarkable on-site educational opportunities. Working here feels like being part of a family, where everyone supports one another in their journey to succeed.
