Retail FAQ

Regular hours for Goodwill Manasota retail stores are Monday through Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The money from the sale of your donated items helps support our vision of ending poverty through the power of work by offering no-cost career services where people in our community can develop their skills, connect with career advisors, and meet directly with hiring employers. These no-cost career services are open to the public and help us provide job seekers the tools to feel self-sufficient, purpose-driven, and successful.

It is the policy of Goodwill Manasota that all sales are final. In the rare event that a refund is deemed necessary by Store Leadership an exchange or store credit is acceptable and preferable.

If a cash or credit card refund becomes necessary, refunds will be issued only at the store where the merchandise was purchased and must be authorized by the Store Leadership.

For a cash refund for $100 or more the Store Leadership will secure:

Customer name, mailing address, telephone number, register receipt, and description of merchandise.

Yes, whenever you donate to Goodwill, you will receive a receipt acknowledging the date Goodwill received your donation. See our list of estimated donation values to see what your donation is worth.

Our Estimated Donation Values list gives approximate values for what items sell for at Goodwill stores. Use these ranges as a general guide to assess the value you can claim on your tax return. Goodwill cannot assign a tax value for you. IRS regulations require taxpayers to place a value on items donated. The rules governing valuation, substantiation, and record keeping and reporting can be quite complex, however. We, therefore, recommend downloading IRS Publication 526 and IRS Publication 561 from the IRS Website and/or consulting a tax advisor if your situation so warrants.
